Water Wars

(2012)

World Premiere: University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford, CT USA
September 20 and 21, 2012

Water Wars takes a bold, beautiful look at rivers, climate change and our responsibility to make it available to all. The dance was developed in collaboration with composer Cory Gabel during SPDC’s residency at the University of St. Joseph. The dance is a response to the global water crisis. Research includes books such as ‘Blue Gold’ by Maude Barlow and Tony Clark. From the playful “Puddle Jumping” to the heart wrenching “Displaced” to the raucous “Water Bottles”, Water Wars is a dance to inspire appreciation for all things water.

Excerpts from Water Wars have been performed numerous times on Earth Day, in parks, festivals and at public and private schools throughout New England.
